Orange Monte Carlo

huh? Desire S has an LCD screen, an extra 200mhz cpu power, 256mb extra ram and a better battery:p

Both have 3.7-3.8" wvga LCDs. (The s-LCD name is just marketing, the Desire S screen is better but not by much)
Both have 1450-1500mAh batteries.
Both have identical 45nm Snapdragons (1.5Ghz+, Adreno 205 GPU, 720p recording etc)
The extra RAM is negligible (esp comparing stock Android to Sense 2.0+, the Huawei has more internal storage)

The Desire S has better camera and comes with sense but other than that they're very similar (size and weight too)

No idea why this stock Android phone hasn't become more popular... Maybe it needs more vocal owners and network payg branding like the OSF?

There's a new SGS1 on ebay for £258 buy it now.

£265 including postage!!:p

Anyway, the phone advertised on the famous auction site is an O2 branded one. The Nexus S is £286 including delivery from PrePayMania SIM-free with no branding and a warranty. You can also get around 5% cashback from TopCashBack or Quidco too.

hey people im new here just thought i would point out that it will use msm8255 ARMv7 zte say so in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8fWSXNy7l8 go to 2.18

Take that with a very large pinch of salt. The recent information direct from ZTE themselves is that the Orange Monte Carlo is powered by an 800MHz MSM7227-T CPU.

And it'll be less than £150 from Orange. And if it's anything like the Blade it'll be easily unlocked and easily hacked within a week.

Yep, £139.99 plus £10 min top up online, possibly £20 min in store. At least that's what ZTE told me.

The unbranded ZTE Skate may have revised specs which will be reflected in the higher cost. I'm still trying to get confirmation about this from ZTE since so far I'm being told different things depending on who I speak to.. it's annoying.

who cares about an unbranded skate? wasn't it a doddle to de-brand the san fran?

will you be working on roms as soon as it's released flibble, or are you busy with other stuff these days?

Will it break? Orange don't say it's on contract - but would it last 18 months do ya reckon? Did the San Fran last well?

Build quality was a bit poor. Had plenty of pocket dust and small fibres under the screen plastic on mine. Case took a beating pretty well though.
