Orange Sim card - 300 free texts

Hiya, just thinking of getting a new sim card for my phone, but one that includes the new 300 free texts a month.

Just a couple of questions if someone bould answer for me please! :)

Do I have to take my old sim card into a shop and get it changed to keep my same number?

Can I find out how many free texts i will get next month? a code or something?

Just looked into this for a friend and apparently you can only keep the same number if you have bought a new phone.

For Orange website--- Up to 1000 free texts and 1MB of free Orange World access a month - simply top-up by a total of £10 or more a month

You don't need to change your sim to get the offer, it's a tarriff.

The tarriff in question is the text top-up tarrif. Phone 450 and choose the option to change your plan.
 
Thinking about it, I don't get hardly any reception on orange in my area, but i know 02 is very good.. Can i swap to 02 but keep my number? And also are there any tariffs like orange's 300 texts a month?

02 online pay as you go tarrif is the same as orange, £10 and you get 300 sms a month. It doesn't however increase like orange. Say top up £20 on orange you get 600 sms. O2 used to do a top up by £15 and get free off peak minutes too, not sure whether or not they do now.
 
I got my new orange sim 300/10quid top one and popped into my orange phone and it says register on this number but it says call failed?

Says limited service....

back to old orange sim.. theres no new mobile phone mentioned even just the sim number

any ideas?
 
You have to register it from a landline as the sim card isnt registered yet, hence you cant make outgoing calls!
