ordered 12 month live sub...cancel or keep?

Ive had my xbox 360 for a few months now, im not a hardcore gamer, play it a few times a week for 30mins or so, and play it when mates come over. I have 2 wireless pads and like to play multiplayer games with my mates.
People have been going on about good xbox LIVE is, i had the 1 month trial of when i 1st signed up but didnt use it much.
I found a good deal for a 12 months live sub and decided to order it, however it will be a few weeks before it is delivered, im now deciding whether to keep the order or not. A few reasons for canceling is that i heard that playing games on live is quite laggy, im abit short on cash atm and dont really want to get something im not going to use and i dont play the console all that much. However a few reasons to keep it are its a decent price of £15, im getting pes6 and GOW so maybe would be good to play them online.
What do you think i should do, keep or cancel?
 
For £15 it's an utter bargain really, so I'd keep it. There'll come a time where you might just think sod it, I want to play online.

Lag issues really depend and vary on each game and your internet connection, Everything I've played on Live has been pretty fine for good speeds and laglessness.
 
Definately keep it. I bought my 360, played it for a few weeks then lent it to a mate which whom it was with for the past 2 months, then I thought sod it and bought another 12 months of Live! and I can't drag myself off it now! Have bought 3 new games for it in the past week too (oops).
 
For £15 thats a bargain, just over £1 a month. Comes in handy when theres nothing else to do. I have one and will keep it despite not being able to play in my halls, I just use it when at home.

So your short of money yet buying two games and worrying over £15 for live?
You had live for a month did not use it much then say you heard about laggy games?
My connection is fine for all games except for DOA? This was the only game i had lag issues with.
