Guys,

Just ordered a Logitech MX 518 after everyone was raving about it, but £25 is a lot for just a mouse?

I currently have a packard bell optical one that is 8 years old! I'm managing but is the logitech that much better??

£25 is a lot of money, for a uni student!

Big mistake or worth it ?

Do you play games? If the answer is yes, that's money well spent.

I paid more than that for my mouse, and I'm also a student. Well worth it.

The more simple answer, since you've already ordered it, is wait until you've tried it out for yourself instead of asking us. We never used your 8 year old packard bell mouse, though I assume since it's 8 years old and crapard hell (this is all I know about it), it will suck compared to the MX518.

Just trying to get the guilt factor out, I mainly play fps, so I guess it will be worth it in the long term!

Just switching from the mainstream side to enthusiast, the prices are a bit hefty!

No more purchases for a while !

Ye £25 must have really hurt your finances. :P

Seriously though, I have no idea how people paly FPS games without a proper mouse.

£25 is FA for a mouse, especially one like a 518. I think I spent ~£65 on my MX Revolution and I most certainly will be buying one again when this dies.

Either way the 518 is an amazing mouse, I doubt you'll be disappointed

I'm a student - payed £25 for a Logitech MX518 - and I'd say it was better than my friend's Razer (which was about £40 - not sure which). It feels solid, is precise and has enough buttons for FPS games. MW2 was much better when I could turn the sensitivity up, and still be precise with the 518.

It's a very good mouse, had mine for ages, and is still in perfect working order, and if it does stop working I will almost certainly replace it with another MX518

I'm classify-able as a Student too :)

And I recently got a £45 Razer Lachesis in Phantom White (Christmas savings :)) All of the new optical and Laser mice are brilliant now-a-days.

++ My razer is very solid, and floats, unlike my old Habu :p

Logitech make quality products and their gaming mice have a great reputation.
Also the games that benefit the most from a good quality gaming mouse are FPS's, I have a Razor Deathadder and never regretted the £40 it cost me.

I'm sure once you start using it you'll wonder how you managed without it.

Okay let's face It I've been gaming for 4years It's a bad mouse. The Instant DPI retract is awful. 1800 max? Not that good.

Now Roccat Kones a good mouse.

You get what you pay for, £25, cheap plastic.
