Ordered a new mouse, is it worth it?

Well, it's a lot if you're not gaming. I think it's more the fact it's the jump from £10 to £25 for a so called "gaming mouse", when those unfamiliar with the role of a gaming mouse can't really see the difference, except perhaps a few higher numbers.

I couldn't justify much more than £30 to be honest, while i can see that the G9's, Mamba's and X8's of this world are very nice mice, given money is very much an object I'd much sooner put the money into hardware, however I would say that the jump from an intellimouse to a 518/Abyssus etc. imo is much more worthwile and much more significant than the 518 to Mamba.

Although, that said, I'm not a particularly serious gamer, nor do I have the skill to really be able to make the most of those mice.

Yeah big ol wet logitech fan all round tbh, quality products that I've always got a tremendous amount out of features/lifespan wise. Never had any problem with mine and as someone mentioned previously on this thread, Ive heard some great things about their support team/returns policy when things have gone kaput.

Currently using the 518 myself and in all honesty can't see myself ever wanting to buy anything else. Perfect features for my gaming, perfect size/shape for my hand and least important of all, I like the look of it

It's a good mouse but It's not a very good mouse thats why it's cheap

Okay let's face It I've been gaming for 4years It's a bad mouse. The Instant DPI retract is awful. 1800 max? Not that good.

Thought it was a good mouse? Make your mind up.

Now Roccat Kones a good mouse.

the mouse is your MOST important peripheral

it is the main input device for any gamer

you need it to feel comfortable, responsive and fast.

if your mouse doesnt meet these expectations then it simply isnt good enough.

my advice to any pc gamer is to always budget at least £50 for a mouse

i always reccomend the Razer deathadder as i find it to be te most comfortable mouse
but a lot of gamers do like the logitech offerings.

basically it is the only item for your pc that you should never skimp on.

Also I've heard logitech's RMA service is superb replacing items and asking you to destroy your old one and send them a picture xD (never had to use it myself though).

Logitech RMA is superb. Had a two year old G9 with intermittent RH mouse button. Sent webnote, and provided proof of purhase and pic of actual mouse and they sent me a brand new G9x FOC. Can't say fairer than that. Oh, no need to destroy existing mouse, lol

the mx518 is the best priced mouse around and still one of the best performing mice regardless of what the specs would suggest. Anybody who actually tries to argue otherwise is completely clueless. And to top that off, logitech's customer support is next to none. Exemplary in every aspect.

If it's anything like a MX510 then you will love it, I've had my MX510 for about 4-5 years and it's still smooth, very accurate and never missed a beat.

Not sure what I paid but £25.00 isn't that expensive.
