Ordered Free-Sync instead of G-Sync, what next.

I know, I know. I got confused in the midst of all my reviews and spec comparisons etc. I'm an idiot.

I ordered: DELL 27" P2715Q

I have a GTX 1080 MSI Gaming X 8GB.

With the P2715Q only going up to 60Hz im getting tearing. The 4k resolutions look nice but the frame rates off 100+ kind of defeat the object.

What monitor is going to give me the most bang for my buck?

TN panel vs IPS?

4k or higher refresh rate?

Is there an option where I invest a little more and get all of the above?

I was wondering in general what's better for gaming. 4K textures or higher refresh rates?

Is there a big difference in 4K versus 1440p?

Im at the stage where i want to buy a monitor thats going to be future proof (as much as is reasonably possible) thats why im thinking 4k and 144hz would be good but what are the options there and is it worth it?

So for the next year at least, 1440p at 144hz is a better option it seems. Thanks.
