even with PB2 i'm only getting 4.2Ghz on all cores.. hardly worth it over 4.1ghz im getting without it on. And pB" is pulling 1.55V vs 1.3VHe has slept (sacrilege) before overclock the CPU. (damn against this forum membership requirements)![]()
still installing stuff atm re-instating my vm'sASUS is very generous with the PBO power. You need to use offsets.
With PBO the 2990WX can do 4.3 on all core at less than 1.5v
All core 4.3 is usually at 1.35 with the Gigabyte one
not bad indeed@smogsy good stuff mate![]()
i maybe able to help you once my games have finished downloading. got a few more download... shadow of war is a monster at 120Gb@smogsy - is that the in-game benchmark? I was hoping for the standalone version so I can compare the results to my own and others in that thread! Just trying to work out whether Threadripper is an upgrade I would benefit from, or whether I am best off going for something more mainstream....

set fans to 50%, its pretty quiet just a gentle hum, with cpu in performance mode sitting at 35C idle 59Cat load on all coresWhat's your thoughts on the be-quiet AIO cooler ? installing/cooling/noise ?
Cheers
I know right... it uses high voltage on 4 core load than a 16 core load I guess due to frequency
no i like it its my baby :dGive me your 2950X and I will forget your insolence of the above post.![]()
not regret but the price was so much lower, i could have got a 2700x + 9900K rigHypocrite, I saw your regret on your post for the 9900K bundle deal.....![]()
original plan was 1 rig for development 1 rig for gaming.Depends if you need all those PCI-e lanes and cores or not.
was thinking of getting 2 now and maybe 5 more later (1/2TBs)A bunch, How many is a bunch? Not forgetting you can get single drives up to 4TB these days, not that you'd want them at the eye watering prices they are. Also NAND prices will probably be down around another 30+ % in the next 3-6 months, so don't go too overboard if you can add more later.![]()
