Hi all, its been a long time since I've brought new pc hard ware and have just ordered this for my 13 year old son's birthday and Christmas:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk...th-generation-3.6ghz-quad-core-fs-1c5-og.html

We added an ssd to the basic build.

I just wondered if there are any good guide to what to do when you get a new system or tips on the best way to set it all up

If anyone has any links to good resources for that they could share it would be brilliant !

No guide needed, if OCUK still prep up the prebuilds then it'll come with Windows already installed, all you'll need to do is install whatever software is required i.e Steam, Discord.

So all new drivers loaded, bios all updated etc?

I had hoped that would be the case :)

Is it worth benchmarking it and so on right away also? Any recommendations there?

Buying a prebuilt all that should be done for you already, if you did want to benchmark Superposition by Unigene is a free one.

Just plug it all in, connect the monitor and keyboards and install Origin/Steam.

Wouldn't bother bench marking just let your lad crack on playing his games :)

Have you thought about a gaming headset, keyboard & mouse or has he already got this?

Ok cool. I'm over thinking it then :)

No headset atm.

Not sure of what would be a good budget £30 ish one he could maybe get himself after Christmas?

I got that PC too for my 13 year old step son , but when i did my order it had the i5 ticked at the same price £699 ... comes too £713.10 with post and vat { ordered it on the 17 Nov 2017 }
lets just hope it comes before xmas :)
