Ordered - Will i be blown away.?

Currently using on-board sound on my G'byte motherboard and a pair of Creative HS-600 headphones.

I've just ordered a Asus Xonar DG5.1 card and some Corsair HS1A's i cannot wait

But will i be suitably impressed with my purchase.?

It wont really read aswell baring in mind its not its main purpose as the Asus Xonar DG5.1 is normally used as a sound card

You might want to move this to sound thread mate, but to answer one of your questions. Yep, the xonar DG will be a nice difference over onboard sound, cant say anything about the headphones as ive never tried them.

You should hear a noticeable difference with the sound card but I don't think the headset will do it much good. I would get a new pair of cans to go with the sound card.

The HS1As are a great headset for the money. Myself and many others on here recommend them highly. (It;s what I went with)

You will need to tinker with the Asus control panel to get the most out of them. Main thing to remember is to set the amp to pro gamer mode and you will probably want to boost the bass in the EQ.

I got a Xonar DG and pair of HS1As today. They are excellent. I just can't get the mic to work on the headset
