Ordering a beast of a Laptop..

New SLi 2xNVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX 512MB (DX10)
Hi-res 17" WUXGA X-Glass (1920x1200)
4GB DDR2 667MHz
2x200GB 7200rpm SATA HDD
Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit


But before i do has anyone got some benchmarks of the 8800m GTX in SLi?

I don't think anybody has actually got hold of one yet.

Most appear to be shipping late Feb (Dell quoted 21st Feb as first ship for the M1730)

The system he specced above uses desktop CPU's not mobile cpu's

Generally Penryns add about 5-10% performance in the same thermal footprint with SSE4. (35w or 44w)

GPU makes the most difference these days once you get to a 2.4ghz dual core or above...

I was specing up a laptop from that place last night.

3.3k for there top end notebook lol and 2GB ram is still standard

Don't get me wrong, If I had 3k to blow I'd buy the above spec Since I only had about 2200 to spend I'll go for the m1730

Nvidia released some benchmarks that hinted the 13500k mark in 06 with SLI 8800m GTX but I'd say with your Quadcore you'd be looking at 14500-1500 easy
