Ordering next week and quite confused

I'm ordering the parts for my first build next week. I will be gaming on 1680*1050 (though not gaming an awful lot). CPU will probably be E8500, Asus P5Q Pro Mobo. I'm unsure what card to get, I won't be doing a lot of gaming but anytime I do decide to game I want it to be smooth as. What do you guys think...Sapphire 4870 1GB? Thinking of going with the Dell 2209wa too. Thanks

4870 1GB or 260GTX 55nm. I'd prolly say go for the ATI tho as the Asus P5 boards and nVidia have a higher chance of not playing nice than other motherboard/combinations.

I've read some great things about those Dells and for £200 I think it's pretty good. Thanks for the input though, greatly appreciated.

The Sapphire 4870 1gb gets my vote, just got mine yesterday, and what a cracking card it is, and the custom coolers brilliant as well, silent, on auto fan speed, mine idles around 53-54, with the fan only on 22%, and underload, it only goes to about 59-60, with the fan speed only picking up slightly to about 26%, and its still silent, tis a fantastic cooler, and card, cuts through everything i throw at it

Excellent to hear, thanks for the info LoadsaMoney, it's great to hear from someone that has it. Now, to finally decide on the case. Originally thought Antec 300 but loving the Lian-Li PC-B25B just trying to figure out exactly how quiet are they both

GTX260 or 4870. Flip a coin or go with the pretty box, they are very similar.
