Ordering X360 online

Well I am just about to get my X360 and woder is it safe to buy a console online? I can get £30 off due to student discount (which the high street shop of the online store won't give) and free delivery.

My main concern is if anything goes wrong with my 360 after buying it. Do I send it back to the online shop (a recent appearance of a common highstreet music store) or does Microsoft handle repairs etc under warranty?

Your contract lies with the retailer, just make sure you keep all the receipts and should anything go wrong, ring them up and get them to replace simple as that.

Its under the sale of goods act which Virii pointed out a few months ago :).
 
I think u will have either or, if the online store is for a big chain (is it HMV or somewhere) then i imagin you can take it back to the store, i know if you buy it from the store you can, just check the returns policy, but if its a big store i dont see there being an issue. But even then everybody on here who has used MS to do the returns have nothing but praise for them, only takes a few days for the turn around.
 
It is indeed HMV, I forget what the policy of mentioning shops is so didn't say it directly. So I could take it back to the local shop even if I buy online, or did I missread that? :D

Also, GRAW or Burnout Revenge? They both look incredible hehehe
 
hmm i looked on the site but couldnt see anything :(
i know game let you take it back to a local store, you could always phone hmv.co.uk or the local shop and ask them?

Spent 30 mins on the phone to them today asking if they had the same offer in store that I saw in another of their stores yesterday... they aren't too sharp it seems.
 
That dog company wont do the student discount online either for the 360 as far as i know. I was tempted to do that but I think i emailed them and they said it wont count even if the site states it when you put the student code in.

no no no, HMV online is a seperate company from the street shop. So I doubt they'd deal with online purchase returns.

Upon entering the code and going to checkout it does state a discount though. Surely if that is the case and I go to pay that much it is their responsibility to actually charge it?

To throw another train of thought in .......

If you get it from GAME (scumbags grrr kill them with fire) you get GAME reward points which approximately come to £30 I think. So it might just be easier al round to buy it from them. But not from the Hemel shop inside the Marlowes shopping center. Anywhere but there.

But in HMV you get reward card points too. A reward card which is free, and you also get the points online AFAIK and yer student discount ;)
and i wouldnt give game the money :p lol
 
Yeh get from game, got mine from there online, it went wrong, had a new one within 2 hours from a store. :)
 
I picked one up from HMV in Hemel for £299 with Ghost Recon and a Charge and play Kit =D Very happy!!!
