Origin Access - double up on discounts?

Hi everyone

I've spotted that Origin has a 50% off in their store at the moment (put the code ORIGIN50 in at checkout), they also have Origin Access, £4 a month subscription, with a 10% off in the store.

Anyone know if these two discounts can be combined into bigger purchases? I've looked at the T&Cs but can't see a definitive answer, only that a discount code doesn't give money off buying a subscription.

T'would be very handy if it works!

the discount doesnt seem to work for most of the pre-order games, they also seem to have closed the hola browser vpn loophole

Thanks for the reply. I'm not so worried about that though, it's more the online store now I'm looking at.

Wondering if it's worth spending £4 if I can get more than that in a discount if it's 10% + 50% off if I get a few bits.

In the terms and conditions of the Origin50 discount it does say that it cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer or discount.

The code stacks with the Origin Access discount. Checked with star wars battlefront. Price is £24.99 for standard. With access my price is £22.49. Adding the code takes the price to £11.24.

I have it for a month, I signed up then cancelled to save a few quid on BF1 and to be able to play it next week.

How does Access actually work? Are the games streamed or do you have to download the full games?

Access is pretty good for occasional use, its just not worth it for rolling subscriptions imo. You download the whole game, and many of them are the premium version so its the full game and all of its DLC. At £4/mo you can get a decent amount of fun.

Our BF-orientated clan decided to all give it a go for a month, there were plenty of titles in there we'd skipped because we werent interested in buying them, like Titanfall & BF Hardline, and for £4 (iirc it was a chunk cheaper in € too) it was well worth the money IMO, because we were all playing BFH and while it wasnt the BF we'd want, at £4 it was good enough and different enough to still enjoy it for what it was, without the nagging realisation of having spent £40 on it interfering with your opinion.
Its something i'd do once a year perhaps, maybe do it again when Battlefront is included.

One downside was that while they use PayPal, its only using them to process a card payment. Its impossible to pay using PayPal credit, it'll always come from a card. Might not bother most, but our initial intention was that the Clan funds we had would pay for everyones access, so to do that it wasnt as simple as it really should have been.

The Access library is separate to your library. If you want an Access game, you just click it and pick add to library. At that point it appears in your game library and you download and install it like normal.
