First impressions and all that.

Firstly I couldn't even download the installer. Server error 500 (over, and over, and over). Eventually get to download the installer...

Then I create an account. Then it won't log me on.

So I look in my email for confirmation I've signed up. Nothing, naturally. Figure it's worth clicking 'password reset', so I do. Wait for email. Nothing. Try to create the account again, but it won't let me (your email is in use - could have fooled me!)

So yeah, my introduction to Origin makes me wonder why they got into this business in the first place?

its simple to use.

and slow as a glacier.

15 mins later I get the password reset email. I change my password. It takes 15 mins before the system will let me log in (keeps giving "wrong password" error - which I think *actually* means "the system hasn't caught up yet". Because if you wait, and wait, you can log in. Password is not wrong at all!).

Origin does seem hit and miss. I've never had a problem with it and personally would stretch to it being "good". But with the amount of people that complain about it, there must be some dodgy shindigs.

its probably slow cause you didnt do as asked in first place. why are you resetting password?

Because it kept telling me the password I'd just set was wrong. I don't believe it, because, like I said, it did the same thing after I changed it.

But 15 mins later (after the change) it let me log on.

It seems that "account or password wrong" just means "give me a while to process, I'm slow".

Probably related to those html 500 errors I kept getting at the start.

Never had any dramas my end either like, but i only use it for one game, i try to stay away from EA money hungry gits that they are, they make activision seem generous lol

Was surprised how long it took for a game purchase to appear on Origin. Nearly 3 hours for a digital service seems poor.

Origin sucks ass.

Its only good for one thing. The exclusive games, eg BF3, Dead Space 3 etc. Its a necessary evil Im afraid. The good news is, EA may release the exclusive games to places like Steam in the future when the games are not so new anymore, like Crysis 2. When they do, watch how many people re buy the game just to have it on Steam then delete their Origin version.

For as long as EA have exclusivity to good games, you will need Origin. Anything else, get it on Steam.

I just look forward to the day that Origin ceases to exist. Oh and Uplay for that matter.

When it first came out I had to google the download link as the website was awful to navigate.

Origin isn't as bad as a lot of people make it out to be, however I would like to be given the option and for EA to offer their games through Steam. Though I imagine this would completely kill their online service.
