I have activated my Sims 3 game and expansions from Steam into Origin.

It appears I have to install each program separately and deal with the appropriate installers?

And, I have to install updates manually?

DLC and updates generally install automatically, although for expansions that are not entirely DLC that may require a manual install, not sure how that works exactly. I recall Steam did something similar that might have changed now.

I got a free copy of Sims 3 a while back with the Late Night and the High End Loft Stuff packs and had to install the base game then both others separately. They took a long time. I don't know about manual updates as I uninstalled them a day later. It was a really frustrating experience.

Well, I I did try and it still sucks. Last time I tried Origin was at launch after using the AWFUL E.A Download manager, remember that?

Still playing catch up to get the basics right.

Shocking.

Will call the £8 a loss and await the Christmas sale on Steam to get the expansion pack I want.

Note to self, there was a reason you have not purchased an E.A game outside Steam for 5+ years.
