Origin. Is the program really that evil?

Just curious if origin is actually as evil as people are carrying on about?

And Does it really let ea have access to all the files on your hard drive like I read earlier today?

All I've heard is bad stuff about it.

Well i just tried to pre-order BF3 and Origin wouldnt go through with it

It just kept saying i had 3 items in the Check out and it would just reload the checkout everytime i hit continue.

You would think they would want my money more then that
