Origin Money Back Guarantee

It must be one of the few products available where if it's crap, you're expected to put up with it. Why aren't the distance selling regs not applicable to software downloads?

The fact that origin promise the refund and then refuse to honour it is even worse.

Trading standards say otherwise

I'm fighting with steam to try and get a refund for x-rebirth and if they don't then it hello trading standards.

egosoft own bloody devs have admitted all the crashes and gameplay show stopping bugs are a priority on their own forum so I don't see how steam can try to refuse based on that trading standards quote which over rides any TOS steam is trying to hide behind

It's battlefield 4 I'm trying to get a refund on. I'm probably 12,345th in the queue!

Seriously, when you think of the debacle that was Windows Vista, I think the law needs to be revised on this. As for Steam, I haven't had a problem with their customer support... Mainly because it's non existent!

yea over 4 days for a reply... then you reply back and looks like you wait another 4 days they seem to just give copy/paste answers about the TOS which do not over rule UK or EU law anyway

a gaming governing body needs to be set up to examine games before release.

they should examine a game before release maybe a week before its going on sale and if its not satifactory its put back or not allowed to be sold.

you can obviously contact places like watchdog or other places and these will act on your behalf.
