Origin Sale

Some nice prices but the major issue with Origin enabled games is EA constantly shutdown servers which leaves their own games unplayable so for that reason I will never buy another Origin enabled game as they do not have offline modes.

From a search engine, might be helpful.

Start Origin, sign in, and be connected to the Internet. Put Origin in Offline Mode (click Origin and click on Go Offline or use Ctrl + Shift + W), you can tell that you are in offline mode if you see OFFLINE MODE on the top right in the window.13 Jan 2015

Which servers are now shut down by the way?

yes.. i've heard more bad things than good about it to be honest... but in the absence of any other SW FPS... i'm getting a bit tired of playing Jedi Outcast all the time!

When you buy anything from Origin your agreeing to EA shutting down the servers with minimal notice. Only reason they have not shutdown any servers recently is the class action lawsuit in the US over them doing this in previous years has made them more wary about doing it on recent games but its not going to stop them :(

Once they shutdown servers any game which depends on origin is no longer playable this is why its such a bad thing  so Titanfall series, Star Wars Battlefront etc etc are all going to be unplayable once EA determine they no longer want to maintain the servers. EA are the only publisher who do this BTW everyone else lets the game servers stay online for many many years before pulling the plug. EA are way too eager to do this early & force players to buy the newer version instead of letting both versions co-exist

Dragon Age: Inquisition is the sleeper of the sale. £7.50 is a bargain.

A question about the latest NFS... Is it like Underground? Really unimpressed with every NFS except Shift and Most Wanted that have come out since. Just wanna race and grow/customize a tuner. Racing Porsche and Lambos on the streets is incredibly boring IMO.

Tried star wars battlefront and not too keen on the multiplayer, never am with games like BF4 etc, but like the skirmish mode, but don't see enough to warrant purchase.

Great price for BF1 when compared to other places! The perfect excuse for an early Christmas present to myself :D

I quite enjoying NFS. The cut scenes are very cringey but the game is good fun. It makes a difference to use force feedback wheel. My trusty r440 still serves me well after 12 years or so!

I was looking at this but apparently it was £3.74 on black friday sale :(
They even had GOTY Edition for £11.24 on black friday

Wonder if they will reduce it to 75% off again over christmas
