Original C&C and Red Alert

Hey all, just a quick question about these games.

Has anyone managed to find a good "port" for them? I'm thinking of playing through them again but I would like it if there was a way to update the graphics and/or the engine.

I noticed there's a project called FreeCNC but it seems to have been abandoned.

Are there any others anyone can suggest?

Something like a user-created engine for it. Westwood (aren't they EA now) have kinda left it to rot - I don't want to play it on 640x480.

Not too sure about mods or updated graphics but EA recently released C&C 95 for free as part of the 12th anniversary of C&C. You can download and copy both the GDI and NOD campaigns to CD. Yeah you're playing with dated graphics but hey, its free right?

Yeah I remember reading about that. However I already have all the C&C games (been a fan for years!).

I'm one of the disorganised C&C fans who couldn't put his hands on the original CD's if his life depended on it

does it have an ini file for the settings?

i know with RA2 you can use any res you want pretty much , spanning over two screens works too (using the ini file)
