Original System Shock on GOG

An "enhanced" edition of the original System Shock has been released on GOG. You get a discount if you bought the updated System Shock 2 through them too!

I found it extremely hard to play even with the old enhanced edition with improved resolution and mouse look. It's pretty tough going if you didn't play it when you were younger (imo). It's a shame as in theory I would love to play it through.

I haven't played it before, though I'm hoping that I'll enjoy it enough to do a full play through. I see the maximum resolution is 1024x768. :/

Yes, I have. I'm currently playing through it, though not the very latest version which was released the other day. Really enjoying it.

I've had no issues with it whatsoever, so you should be fine. I've found it to be a most impressive mod (better than I was expecting).

Sounds good, arc@css. I was a bit on the fence about it as I wasn't sure about the concept but it does look pretty interesting. Good to hear that it's better than you expected too.
