Hi folks...

Looking for a new 1080p card solely for survival games. Mainly play DayZ, Miscreated and possibly Subnautica shortly.

I'm a sucker for early access survival games.

Currently have a 2600K @ 4.5Ghz and original Titan.

Would a 480 or 1060 offer a good improvement? (or any?)

Cheers

From what I have seen, the average GTX 1060 6GB Benchmarks have ran better than the Original Titan, I'd say go for that rather than an RX480.

Imo the 1060 isn't enough of an upgrade over the Titan (considering it's = 290x, which is ~10% within a 480 which is = to a 1060). You should be looking at a 1070 & up.

As above only a 1070 would give you an improvement whereas the 1060/480 would match, be slightly better.

980ti or 1070 and up is what you need to see a difference in performance from an original Titan. 480 and 1060 are a sidegrade and you won't see a real world benefit.

Be aware DayZ is very poorly optimised and massively CPU bound.
I replaced my GPU and noticed minimal improvments in Dayz (particuarily build up cities).

I replaced my CPU and noticed a much bigger difference. Same with all ARMA engine games.

So something to think about there. If you really want to run DayZ at it's best your looking for single core IPC and clock speed on the CPU.
