Original wii remote or new wii u remote?

Hi, My girlfriend has a Wii U which i got her for xmas, up to now we have just played games using the gamepad and also the gamepad pro, she is wanting to buy just dance 4 and i know you need the remote to play (possibly a couple of remotes if wanting to play 2 player)

anyway i was just wondering what the difference between the original remote is and the newer wii u remote, they both look pretty much identical, i am assuming the sensor bar is the same as the original as well.

would it be worth be getting the newer remote or will the older one be fine?

i did ask in a shop a while ago and i think the guy just said they are both the same apart from the name on the box.

any ideas please?

I seem a few owners reviews saying the new wii U remote is meant to be better
But I no used or owned one myself..

This is a vast improvement over the original Wii controller.

The built in motion plus and lighter weight make it easier to use for extended periods.

Shame it's still expensive compared to an original controller and motion plus extra.

Seems sturdier than the Wii version of the remote pro (less rattly buttons, more solid feeling rumble). The Matte finish on the underside is much comfier and more secure to hold.

I've taken 1 star off as I still dont understand why it doesn't have a rechargable battery. Its 2012, Nintendo!!

The new Wii U one is a lot better.
Much smaller than the original (motion plus is built in) and just feels more solid as a result.

I also still use the originals with the Wii U and they're fine but the new one is better. I suppose it may depend on the price difference and whether its worth it to you.
