Hi

I have recently been trying to over clock my PC and had my first failure at a stress test in Orthos. My last successful test was on the following stats which ran for 10hours:

Type: Blend - stress CPU and RAM Min: 8 Max: 4096 InPlace: No Mem: 1789 Time: 15
CPU: 3062MHz FSB: 436MHz [437MHz x 7.0 est.]

I then tried it on the following which failed after about 19 seconds!:

Type: Blend - stress CPU and RAM Min: 8 Max: 4096 InPlace: No Mem: 1789 Time: 15
CPU: 3149MHz FSB: 449MHz [449MHz x 7.0 est.]

Anybody got any ideas? I'll post a screen shot of some specs on my system below. I didn't think it was the temperature of the Core as this maxes at about 53c at the moment.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Have you tried running Small FFT's as this would rule out the RAM. I suspect that you have hit the upper limit of BIOS 0401 - it's probably completely stable at 1700 yes?

The other thing you really have to do is the pencil mod on this board - otherwise the Vdroop is a killer.

Also - could you post your RAM specs and Northbridge voltages.

Do you have active cooling on the Northbridge?

No active cooling on the Northbridge other than the front fan from the Akasa Eclipe blowing through the case.

I assume all the specs you need re RAM and NB voltage are in the grab of my screen in the first post? I'm not sure if the NB voltage is shown on SpeedFan though?
