Hi, I have 2 problems that i'm not sure on how to fix.

1) On boot I am given a choice of two OS's to go into, Microsoft Windows XP Professional and (Windows Default). This started when I installed the dual core driver for my cpu about a month ago. I've looked at the boot file and I don't think there is anything wrong with it and it doesn't mention the (Windows Default) choice. If I choose this option it will say theres an error with hal.dll and not boot.
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS /usepmtimer
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional"/noexecute=optin /fastdetect /bootlogo /usepmtimer

2) When windows is on the welcome screen it will pause for about 2mins. I know that this is caused by my wireless adapter as when I disable it on startup it will boot fast. Is there something I could do to fix this?

Any help would be great.

is it searching for more than one wireless network? my work lappy does that on boot, its fine at work or at home if i disable wireless, but otherwise it just hangs for ages searching for all networks. Try looking in your event logs, id be interested in a solution, but im too lazy to find one :D
