Hi All.

I added a PCIe sata card to my machine because I ran out of ports. The machine will not boot when the dvd drive is connected to the sata port on the card but it will when the dvd drive is connected.

Any ideas where I might be going wrong?

Is the first boot device a DVD? and thus it cant find it?

Try setting the first boot device to the HDD/SSD and disable all the others.

I have disabled all of the boot options except for the OS drive. It still asks me to reboot and select the correct boot device. Very frustrating.

try swapping a hdd on your mb sata port for the dvd drive on pci-e card, see if bios sees the hdd and dvd drive then and test booting from both ect
