Hi, just after a bit of quick advice:
I just formatted and reinstalled xp as for some reason it would not boot when i woke up this morning. It would load xp just fine, until the part where it got past the splash loading screen and would just restart my pc.
So, as noted, i formatted the partition windows was on and proceeded to install xp again. All seemed fine and im here on the trusty 800x600, purely default settings apart from a new nic driver. The only problem is, every 30 secs or so i get a notice at the bottom right of my screen "C:\Windows\Prefetch is corrupt and cannot be read."
Now this seems strange to me as its a completely fresh reinstall, so is this something a bit of software could fix, or a case of getting a new hard disk?
Thanks in advance.
