OS selection.

Hi folks.

Like most people here I've been trying Vista. I set it up as a dual boot with XP so I have a choice of which OS to boot in to.

Can anyone tell me how I get rid of the OS selection screen when I delete Vista?

boot into your xp disk then use the recovery console to run fixboot.fixmbr commands, that will rewrite your boot record with xp as the only one

Hang on, let's make sure I have this right.

I start the recovery console and just type "fixboot c:" right?

it'll display c:\ so just fixboot press enter, then fixmbr, enter.

Restart...

Either wont hurt. When I did it I think I specified the partition.
