OS X Backup Software?

I'd like to use one of my old 120gb HDDs to keep a backup of my MacBook, just incase it dies. I assume i'd be best of using an external USB2/FireWire case, but what about software? I just want a complete copy of the drive, rather than specific files and folders.

Any ideas at all? I'm a bit lost when it comes to Mac software!

Ok, i'll look into that Hopefully it'll have some method of restoring the image to a drive in case it does actually fail

I'd use the built in disk utility personally

If i make an image with this and save it on another computer on the network, and there was a failure on the Mac, how would i go about restoring that image to a new drive?
