Hi All,

Got a friend who is interested in a new PC but he does a lot of media work and was wondering about OS X. Simple question - how does it install on a machine compaed to windows? Is it the same thing, boot to CD and follow the steps or is it more complicated?

Thanks in advance

If hes installing it on a normal PC which is not made by apple then it is not legal, but it can be done but it is pretty tricky. But were not allowed to link you too any sites about this topic, as it breaks the forums rules (read the sticky in Mac Software).

How is it illegal? OSX is purchasable from apple for [Insert amount here]. Is it mentioned in the EULA or something?

Couldn't care about linking or any way to do it illegally as I don't go into all that rubbish. I was just under the impression buying it from apple and installing it on a computer as normal would be fine?

It's against the license.
We have recently been removing quite a few threads relating to installing Mac OS X on a PC. While there are several sites promoting this, it breaks the terms of Apple's EULA and therefore is not allowed on the forums.

Please could we refrain from posting anymore threads like this.

To get OS X to work on a PC you have to do things which break apples EULA. Theres no legal way to get OS X to work on a PC.
