New version of the OSVR is coming soon, basically the same specs as the Rift and Vive (without hand controllers) for a big saving on the price.

I did look at the OSVR before I bought the vive but I think some games said they had no plans to implement it, if there becomes a standard then it shouldn't be a an issue but just couldn't be sure if it would work with what I wanted.

SteamVR supports it, so basically everything that supports the Vive or Rift via SteamVR will also support this, but for hand controller games you would need something extra, but e.g. stuff like project cars and war thunder would be supported

if I didn't already have a Vive I would be taking a serious look at this, and for well under £400 it would be pretty tempting

I think i'm gonna give this a try. I mostly play driving games so no need for hand controllers and the like.

If it comes in at £399 then I'll be all over it like white on rice but if we get the UK pricing then it will probably be £500 and I'll skip.

One thing to bear in mind is that it may have the same 30 day only warranty as the current model "Razer OSVR Hacker Dev Kit 30 days **"
