Ive got my MBP out of the cupboard today that not been in used for ages and it on 10.6.8 and I am wanting to get mountain Lion on it but need to get 10.7 first and cant find it anywhere to install.. Or Download...

Any tips folks.

Also since ive already purchased lion and mountain lion will i beed to buy them again?

You can update to ML straight from Snow Leopard (10.6). And you can get ML (your Lion download will now be hidden but you don't need it anyway) from the Mac App Store, if you have already purchased it, it's free.

Strange thing is the MBP won't upgrade to ML dunno why

I upgraded our 2010 MBP to ML last night.

Simply loaded the app store, clicked on the "app" and away it went.

couldn't have been easier.

Nope, still the right age. Try downloading it from another Mac, and copy it across with a USB stick or something
