Behind you... Naked!
Entirely new to MACs. Owned them many years ago but recently been toying with them again.

finding a couple of things that are niggling me.

1 - The OS
2 - Everything else

There are also a few things that I was hoping that I could get help with if anyone would help me please?

Firstly, when I installed it ( Yosemite 10.10 ) I installed it to the SSD and I wiped the HD too, and both the SSD and the HD showed up on the desktop.

This time, I installed only to the SSD, ( I never had the HD in ) and it did not show the Icon for the SSD... Not really an issue I suppose, but I have added the HD and it won't show up?
Its a brand new one and so I have just formatted it in the Disk utils and so it should do, but it does not.

I*can get at it, and I can copy files to and from it, but I don't know how to display it on the desktop?

How can I do this?

Secondly, in Finder, under GO, I select my home folder, and it shows that. Ok, but what it did have, was my Data Drive ( the HD I refer to in the last question ) and what I tried to do, was create a link to it on the despot, but what it did, was delete it from the Finder instead? ( ok, not the finder, but the side-bar on the home folder ) .

It has not come back since I did that... How can I customise this side bar and maybe allow that back?

I know these are pitifully simple things, but Im kind of lost... Maybe I should have had some sleep last night?

So not entirely new then.

Not a good start

Lost the will to read all of that.

What type of Mac is it?

Ok if it makes you happy, then not entirely, but they are entirely different to each other and it might as well be.
Plus, my daughter has a Mac and so yeah, Im a total liar there.

I mean that I am new in that this is the first time I have actually owned a proper mac for myself and the first time I have ever given it any real proper play about.

Not a good start

It was a half joke... only half.

Lost the will to read all of that.
What type of Mac is it?

I have the ability to do that... I have a mental issue where I go on and I never get round to the actual subject.... Do you know what... The other day... I told you. LOL.

What mac?

my MacMini but it can only go to 10.5.6 whereas my other homemade one is currently at 10.10.4.
