I've been playing with Leopard for a few days and getting to grips with most things. I've used Windows for a long time (and don't have any problem with that) but I am finding there is a lot to like about OSX.
Anyway, to my question.
I can create my own 'stack' in the Dock by opening Finder and dragging and dropping the Applications folder to the right hand side of the Dock. If I click on the stack then all the applications are shown and I can click and run them.
So far so good.
If I now install a new application it appears correctly in the Finder/Application view with the expected icon but when I click on the stack, the icon for the new application looks like some default document with a sort of grey no entry sign over it. I can click this icon and the application runs/works but why doesn't the stack update correctly.
I can destroy the stack and then create the same one again (Applications) and now the new application appears in the stack with the correct icon.
Do the stacks not automatically update when the source files change or have I misunderstood something ?
I hope that makes sense.
