OT Slightly; Gainward 7800GS+ delivery.

I've received my Gainward 7800GS+ via CityLink this morning and the box was damaged although the card seems to be okay, it looks as if the box was droped whilst loading into the van.

My question is, what is the best thing to do, email OCUK now, before I try the card or wait and see if the card works okay?

PS. Normally I wouldn't sign for a box in this state, but it was delivered to my work and signed for by a collegue.
 
If the card is fine I would just ring CityLink and give them a good telling off. I would also give your mate a telling off for not signing it as damaged/unchecked.
 
Ordered mine on the Wednesday, should have been delivered on the Saturday but CityLink wern't able to deliver to me for some reason. Despite being my work address and us being open at the time they were supposed to have called.

Received it today, and having now gotten home can confirm that the card does work. And works very well, having fun with Ghost Recon, which is running at 1280x1024 with High Rez textures and no a single slow down :)

Did simply putting the card in enable the high texture settings in the video options?:)

Edit: I don't suppose you'd post the rest of your system & let me know what FPS you're getting?:)

yea i have to run 800x600 with low textures and dynamic shadows off 4xAF and other gfx settings at high to get decent framerates.

if i set textures to medium i take a MASSIVE hit in framerate and the game becomes unplayable.

guess i need that 256mb ram on the card now more than ever.
 
City link is absolutely disorganised rubbish,when it comes to cities IMO.Dont bother ringing them to tell them whats up, as they will probably just laugh.Your deal is with ocuk.You have to tell them,then they HAVE to take your bruised box into account when your scores dont match manufactures min spec.

Plus OCUK Gibbo anyone! give us a choice of worthy distrobution companies to get our stock.

It wont take much to have regular buyers thrashing the post about *hittylink.
