Other on iPhone 3G

Hiya all,

Any idea what other contains and how do I clear it?

I used to use Media Monkey but given it up since it corrupted album art
when I used Media Monkey my other only used to be around 200mb

Other contains stuff like album art, genius (which can take up a bit depending on how many tracks you have) and the actual iPhone OS.

In other words, you can't get rid of it, it's needed

But if you want to make it smaller you can turn off genius if you don't use it.

Edit:

Oh, since it's an iPhone it'll be including all your messages, settings, and other phone related stuff in other too.

I don't use Genius

I thought it might of been the case ..I REALLY should have bought the 16GB instead

If your iPhone is jailbroken all your jailbroken apps and their data come under 'Other', so you can free space by cleaning them up.
