Othos failure

Hi all,

Got a stock E6600 running on an Asus P5B with 2g Crucial 5300 ram.

No overclocking at all, yet Orthos still fails. Temperatures seem ok - CPU maxes out at 55 and mobo at 35 or so.

First time failed after a few secs or so, ran again, and failed after 90 mins.

How do I determine whats causing this?

(I suspect that its the ram.....no idea how to find out though other than to replace the sticks)

You should get an error message in the failure box.

Post it in here, and I'll see if that sheds any light.
 
From the splog.txt file. Says that I should consult the stress.txt file, which I cant find anywhere.

Above is typical of RAM error.

Get Memtest and create a bootable CD as per instructions that come with it. if that fails then I would try the below.

If you've got 2 or more sticks in, I would suggest taking them out and leaving one in, run orthos until you are satisfied it is stable, then add another stick, run orthos again continue until you've found the suspect stick.
 
Thanks for the comments guys.

Ran memtest for one full cycle and zero errors.

I will try running Orthos with one stick of ram at a time and see how that goes.
