im very surprised to see an AMD rig in there, and an X58 system too. i would have thought that the sandybridges would have taken all 10 spots tbh

No offence to people... but not everybody knows what they are buying.

For example I think intel have made it very confusing basically releasing 4/5 different versions of the i7, all of which can be quite a bit different in performance. Customers just see "i7" and think oh thats good i'll get it. Although to be honest the oldest i7's are still very good.

It does not surprise me that people are still buying AMD either, some customers are loyal to one brand... Nope I have no idea why either :p

Some people need computers to just run the interwebs AMD does that no problem. Value wise AMD is perfectly acceptable to non enthusiast users IMO.

Because they work perfectly well for 99% of tasks the average user will want it for. In fact, they work fine for any task, just Intel outperforms them. But that doesn't suddenly mean AMD processors can't do stuff.

Well I know the differences with i7 ranges but I always say to people who are on low budgets that there is nothing wrong with buying AMD. I feel for someone who has to keep to a budget they offer much better performance to price. I tell them they can invest 'part' of the savings on buying a slightly better GPU and an SSD. For 99% of casual gamers this is a much better solution.

If you can afford the high end i7 CPU's then thats great for you and yes they will outperform, but then you paid how much for that? Makes no sense in the real world
