Hi guys, i got a nifty fifty for christmas and haven't had a chance to use it yet, I haven't even been out with the camera for a couple of months so thought i'd go out today with just the 50mm and see what i could make of it.

Despite the fact that within 15 mins of me getting out it started raining, my camera got soaked, i spent 3 hours trying to find my way back to the car as i was proper lost, i ruined my new shoes, i ate a few bugs, but got a couple of shots that i like.

C&C as usual please.....

cheers guys, it was in denny wood, just down the road from the beaulieu road pub.

I'm free tomorrow, saturday and monday, let me know mate.

Yarde, no real tips, use a tripod if you can makes things a little easier, make sure you remember to overlap in your pictures. I use a program called autopano pro to join them together.

1 and the pano. When you say nifty, meaning f1.4 or 1.8?

edit: checked exif.. says f1.6 though. Bokeh looks better than the f1.8 though

I like 1,5,6 and 7.

Really like 1 for some reason. Like the distance in 5, really gives it depth I feel.

It will be the 1.8 (and all the photos I looked at the exif of said f/1.8). The 1.4 isn't called the nifty (well technically only the Canon 50mm f/1.8 can actually be called the nifty fifty, before those dirty Nikonians stole the term, and then some people now using it for 50mm f/1.4 lenses!) only 50mm f/1.8 lenses are the niftys. :)

Nice pictures but i'm not sure about the bokeh, especially in no. 7, the top looks terrible. :(

But composition wise nice use of dof and composition. :)

think it must be opera telling lies.. says 1.69 :P

Says 1.74 here with iexif. The max aperture shown is always larger than what you actually get though. :)
