Out of date beer?

Anyone ever had out of date beer?

Out of date two years ago - should i go for it?

Anyone else had out of date beer - any good?

I've drunk 4 month old beer, was perfectly fine.

It isn't like spirits where it can improve with age but have a sniff of it and if it seems ok then you might as well try it. It shouldn't be any more alcoholic either since the yeast will long since have died off.

Of course none of this answers the important question of how you managed to let beer go out of date?

Spirits (ie whiskey) only age in casks, they do not age in bottles, but I would say go for it.

If its a can make sure it hasn't rusted inside :/

2 years is a bit much for my to even think about drinking it....

How did you manage to tell that the Tennents was off? I bet it tasted just the same as usual*.

*nb I'm quite partial to the odd pint of the T so I'm only joking.

ive had beer that was a few months out of date. 2 years seems a lot, but i'd probably take my chances anyway

There it is! Drank most of the keg. Seemed a bit stronger than normal, but tasted OK to me.

Beer a couple of months out is ok (I know this

). Beer a couple of years old.....probably be alright, but I wouldn't chance getting bad guts myself.

I've done beer a couple of months out of date from a bottle. It tasted fine to me. Not done it from a can though, i suspect that would be a different experience altogether

might have degraded a bit (and it can only degrade into the drink!)
