This is a problem I've had quite often with one machine at home and sporadically at work also.
Basically the contents of network shares are out of date. The affected computer will show and old, apparently cached, copy of what's there rather than what actually is.
After some searching I found this hotfix:

Checking the affected file on most Windows 7 machines shows that the version is older than that detailed in the above page, despite that dating from 2012. Surely this would have been incorporated into a general Windows update by now?
Second issue is that I don't appear to be able to download the hotfix itself - the link goes to a dead page.
Lastly I experienced this the other day on a Windows 10 machine - surely this has been fixed in Windows 10 so maybe something else is going on?
Can anyone shed any light?
