my internet connection has been rubbish for days now.

im on bt infinity and usual speeds are near 40mb

now im lucky if i hit 1mb

ive disabled and renabled my wireless adaptor, this one

ive restarted the router and unplugged the modem but nothing is working.

anyone else got any ideas?

I cant as the drivers for the ethernet port dont appear to work, it wont recognise a cable has been attached.

my wireless was working fine then i turn the pc on one day and it just went

just trying different drivers for the wireless

gonna take 3 hours to do a 38mb download!

You need to rule out the WiFi. Buy an Intel PCI-E NIC.

Has been the port been disabled. Faulty cable. Tried all ports on the router?

i dont think it is the wifi.

ive tethered my phone to the computer and the phone connects fine to the wifi. using my S3 as a wireless adapter i get near 40mb speeds again.

this dam wireless adaptor cost over £30 and it wont just work.

well its working fine now on the adaptor.

the wireless adapter has a cradle that allows you to place the adapter further away from the pc. i tried it out of the cradle and directly into a usb port and its functioning perfectly. weird though as ive always had it in the cradle.
