Out of range display

My PC keeps booting up in a resollution that is out of range for the monitor so I cant actually see where to click to revert it back - how do I change it back from booting up? I know it's easy, I've forgotten how

i have the same problem,cant remember how to fix it properly.

but a quick fix i did help me.

i just pluged my monitor in the second output on the gfx card and it worked for me.

Erm, do you mean press F8 during boot up to load up safe?

but f8 on my cpu loads the boot menu any other way ? thanks

Select the hard drive to boot from and then keep pressing f8 as soon as you press enter.

Switch your monitor off for a few seconds then back on again.

if its an lcd it should fix it.

Try other f numbers like f10 and f12 as not all are f8 for safe mode.
