Hello folks.

So I recently bought a 780 GTX TI off the MM and I plugged my 3 monitors into it.
One into DVI, one into HDMI and one into the DP port via a DP active adaptor.

Now. The monitor which is plugged into the DP slot via DP to HDMI active adaptor is giving me a little problem. Each time my monitors would power down after the set time period, and then when I move the mouse or type something into the keyboard, the monitor will not wake up and show a "Out of range" message.

The other two monitors are fine.
And when I try to move the cable around, the problem moves with the cable (so its not a monitor issue).

The only which has changed recently is that I have gone from a 280X to the 780 GTX TI.

I have since reformatted/reinstalled W7 etc, but this problem persists.

Also another thing which I changed, with the 280X I was using a MINI DP to HDMI adaptor. Now I am using a normal DP to HDMI adaptor.

So any thoughts OCUK?

I wools install the proper monitor drivers for each, no Windows or WU ones.

There's no such thing as a monitor driver!

You might get a .inf file from the manufacturer containing a list of resolutions and refresh rates it likes to support, and maybe am ICM colour profile. PnP gets that information anyway via DDC.

Most likely there's a problem related to the DP-HDMI adapter.

I think you could be right there, the only two new elements are the graphics card and the DP-HDMI active adaptor.

I might dig around for another DVI cable and try that (since the 780 GTX has two DVI sockets on it).

Monitor drivers? Really?
(WU = Windows Update?)

Ive never had this problem with the 280Xs. Why now though?

Will have a trawl for the drivers!

Yes, what's so hard to believe that can fix many issue like the peep last week had (could not get 120HZ on his LCD)?

The OS will then get the proper Manu's .Ini file for RES+HZ and Colours.

May not be your issue though.

Ok smartass, you and he both know what I meant, its not ****ing contest and does this help the OP?

And it doers not always work with built in OS ones, read my last post.

And when you boil it down to it, a lot of driver are simply a .ini file including Intels.

No, I didn't know what you meant. It was inaccurate, and I corrected it.

I haven't got a clue what's going on in your head.
