out of the box for am5

hi guys and gals.
can anyone tell what mobos will work with am5 out of the box without a bios update . is it only x870 .

Any with bios flashback will be fine, even assuming the board doesn't have an up to date bios for the 9X00 chips you'll be able to update it regardless.

Otherwise you're restricted to the B850/840 and X870 unless you want to take a chance.

I'm assuming you mean 9000 series CPUs, because 7000 series CPUs are also AM5.

If you're asking which boards are natively 9000, it is:
X870/X870E
B850/B840

First gen boards are:
X670/X670E
B650/B650E
A620

Though, as said, first gen boards will work with a bios update and 2nd revision boards are likely updated already.

Yes, just to make it clear, any B6xx board with bios flashback can update to the latest file with only power inserted with no CPU in the socket. So long as it supports that you can go for the best value which is often the B6xx series unless you need something specific.
