Hi people,

Ive not updated my PC for a while and i have at the moment

INTEL PENTIUM 4 HT 775 @ 3.2 (Stock)
GeIL 2GB (4x512MB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS2.5
XFX GeForce 7800GT Extreme "LED" Edition 256MB
2 Seagate 7200 SATA 160 GB Hard Drives.
Blue Hiper Modular Type-R 580 Watt PSU

And i want to give it a bit of an upgrade starting with the CPU, RAM and motherboard.
It would be ideal if i could get an micro motherboard so it can go into my existing q-pack case.

What would i need to look at? say if i had 350 to spend?

Any help would be good!

Thanks
John

Given you want mATX and only the three parts plus remembering that an mATX motherboard is unlikely to clock too well I've gone for the fastest CPU I could fit into the budget. :)

Thanks a lot for that!
At the minute ive got this set up....

INTEL PENTIUM 4 HT 775 @ 3.2 (Stock)
GeIL 2GB (4x512MB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS2.5
XFX GeForce 7800GT Extreme "LED" Edition 256MB
2 Seagate 7200 SATA 160 GB Hard Drives.
Blue Hiper Modular Type-R 580 Watt PSU

Will what you say give me a lot more power than my current rig?

It should give you a decent jump with the dual core CPU, the Ram being DDR2 will make next to no impact over DDR but the fact that it is two sticks rather than four might help a little. :)

What do you mean? ive had that psu in my pc for well over a year and half?

Hipers have gained a bit of a reputation for dying early, the Type-R seems to be the one that is most likely to fail but if you've had it this long it is probably fine anyway. I wouldn't worry too much about it, not all of them will fail but from anecdotal evidence it seems that a higher percentage than would be expected do. :)
