Out of touch, can anyone spec me......

This should give you the basis of a pretty decent system with a fair bit of potential for overclocking. :)

Cheers man, that's pretty much identical to what I was (slowly!) getting at but I was trying to squeeze in a quad core by going with an IP35 E (:o), but then remembered I've had one of them before and it did very strange things!

Are the quad core processors making much of a dent in terms of gameplay yet or is Core 2 Duo still the best option on a budget?

If you are on a tight budget then Core2Duo is still the way to go, once you get over £100 on a processor then quad core and overclocking makes sense but with a limited budget it isn't worth it. As far as I am aware there aren't that many games that will make good use of a quad yet so I'd go Core2Duo and overclock. :)

Nice to know that I haven't completely lost touch then, Ive been scouting around and haven't seen much reason to get a quad other then me physically wanting to, but I'm surprising myself and staying remarkably sensible! :(

I'll have a peruse of the Overcloking section, been a while since I last messed with an Intel board properly (4.2 GHz P4 under a Mach II about 2-3 years ago ) so no doubt will be lost in the myriad of options on the new boards for a bit!

Thanks again mate.

Andy
