Out of virtual Memory - Help!

Hi there, more recently I have been getting this error and its really starting to annoy me, i Keep getting the error "out of virtual memory. If you look at my sig you will see that I have a really old computer (I am upgrading in the next few weeks) but in the mean time, i need to be able to run rograms like 3ds max (it worked fine last year :/) and adobe after effects. is there any solution to this problem apart from buying more RAM ? It's also frustrating as I cant plat unreal 2004, and before I could play it for hours no probs. Please help if you can :confused:

What size is your pagefile set at an/or how much free space do you have on the partion with your pagefile on

Ok it's set to zero......what should i change it to , its a 30gb partition NTFS windows XP SP2 and there is 12.6gb left.....

Ok i just tried to load UT2004, that didnt work, and neither did after effects, I think my memory has finally become screwy after all these years :/

I've been getting a lot of "The Memory Could not be "read"" errors recently, I'm assuming this means its the end for this rig ?

Id try reseating first, but thats not a good sign im afraid.

Google for memtest84 and run it

I ran memtest about 2 months ago and it went for 9 hours no errors - possibly heat/dust ?

possably the heat and dust. i would still run memtest to see if there are any bad sections or read write errors with your ram thou.

Also have a look in the Event log under the system tab to see if there are any other memory related errors croping up.

(btw your rig is not that old, I have only just upgraded from a p3 650 to a XP1800)
