Out take fans causing marks on the wall...

Right so I had a computer quite a while ago, sat in the same place under my desk for a while. When I moved house and took the desk out I found that it had made a rather gruesome brown mark on the wall behind it. Obviously where an out take fan had been blowing hot air and dust.

I would like to avoid this happening again. Does anyone else encounter this problem? That machine was old and not very good and my new build is a lot quieter and cooler. Do you think it won't be a problem? Or do I need to take some preventative steps?

I'm renting accomodation so it could be a problem.
 
Dust filter's on the intake fans might be a good idea. You could move the PC further away from the wall or just clean behind it every few weeks to stop all the dirt building up.
 
On this new build all the intake fans have dust filters, so that should help a lot. I'm just worried about leaving it there and forgetting about it until it's too late hah
