Hi guys thought i would finally start a build thread it's not super detailed as most of the pictures are on my phone and are pretty bad quality until i got my point and click back...(which some are also bad quality as I'm terrible at photography!)
Both builds aren't fully finished but I'll show you how things got to where they are now.
So with the GF's birthday coming up in Jan and it being her 21st i knew it was a big deal to her ( for me a birthday is just another day but her family celebrate everything like it's the last coming of Jesus! so i needed to do something special that no one else would do for her.
I Decided it would be a great idea to build her a PC...it also gave me a sneaky way to upgrade my PC at the time!
So here was my first build it went through various stages but here it was when i first built it it's a cm690ii with a 2500k and a 560ti at the time which was replaced by a GTX660 both msi twin frozr editions
Horribly messy as i had a non modular psu and i pretty much just wanted to get it running
eventually thing's got tidied up and i switched out the stock cooler for a Arctic cooler freezer 13?
This set up also changed as i added a XSPC raystorm EX240mm kit in if i ever find the pictures i'll update this thread
Anyways i decided to reuse my cpu and gpu for her build as it would be more than ample enough for her to game at 1080p (hasnt ever played pc games yet either!)
I was lucky i sourced a lot of my parts second hand as building 2 builds is expensive enough especially when watercooling!
a lot of the pictures i took of all the parcels and packages are on my phone yet again so no stacked box pictures for you guys!
Anyways i started my pc build first so that i still had a pc to use.
Corsair 750D
4790k devils canyon
290x WC XSPC razor block
EK vario 100 D5 pump/res
8GB 1600hz corsair LP
Corsair RM750
Crazy amount of primochill ghost fittings and other WC fittings
240mm 30mm thick alphacool rad 2x corsair SP120's
280mm 45mm thick alphacool rad with push pull af140's
Custom psu cover
and good old cold cathode lighting!
any way back to the pictures!
in hind sight i should have kept the bottom acrylic tube how it was except i forgot to put the drain tap on ...then things went wrong as i worked on it all day nailed the top 3 pipes and bends then the last to caused me havoc they look terrible but I've already ordered more tubing ..... had many problems with getting things in stock at OCuk but to be fair they were great about everything so i can't fault them plus i must have eaten well over 10 bags of haribo by now!
filling the loop
and a better shot of the psu cover
excuse the random half arty shot my camera sucks and i was trying to show the front lcd temp displayx that are plugged into the wc loop
There are still plenty of things to do but for now it's up and running i have 1tb hdd that i need to copy over to a 2tb hdd thats on order with OCUK
2 pipes to re bend so need to drain the loop and i have another 8gb of RAM to stick in.
i'd like a better way of lighting up the ENCOM logo but for now its extra money that i don't really have!
i have a small leak from one of the bends which is fine when im just using the pc for borwsing but if i start to play any games it starts to leak slowly temps on games have been low 40's which im chuffed with!
On to the second build!
Corsair 350D
2500k
GTX660
XSPC raystorm kit with D5 pump/res
128gb ssd
Team group vulcan orange 2400 8gb Ram
OZC 550PSU
My apologies about the terrible quality shots i worked solidly for 3 days on both builds getting frustrated a lot of the time so i really wasn't spending more than a second taking a picture!
Here is how her build stands currently
Like i said both builds arn't completely finished
her loop is messy although works 2500k is OC to 4.4 and idles at 28-29 with no fans running awaiting on a few parts to fully finish
Fan controller ( whats the point of WC if the fans spin crazy mad when plugged into the motherboard!)
another piece of acrylic to hide the cables and box of the psu cover which will be lit up with a bitfenix orange led strip
2tb toshiba drive so i can copy my old 1tb HDD stuff over and put the 1TB drive into her PC and the 2tb into mine (going into a optical hop swap bay to keep mine clean)
Acrylic tubeing to arrive
New mechanical keyboard looking at the coolermaster rapid i for a white LED keyboard thats TKL
some orange led's for her waterblock
a 500gb SSD for my build.
other than that there both pretty much finished i have to sort out my small PSU cover front section out needs sanding down to fit better but here is a picture of them both together.
if you hadn't guessed im a big Tron fan hence the blue and orange builds to fit with the rest of the room!
I hope you guys enjoyed this thread and i promise once everything is finished i will take much better pictures!
and if anyone has anything to add that could help feel free to comment and say it
