...in with the new.
So first off here is an old before pic with all of my gear in the Lian Li PC-7 Plus.
One 12cm intake at the front, the H70 and PSU were acting as my exhausts. No cable management in the case due to it's age mainly so everything was fastened to the top of the case!
Onto the new! BitFenix Shinobi. Took me around 4 hours to transfer everything and to try and get all of the cables where I wanted them.
Rear end shot, I mount one of the Viper's on the outside of the case and make use of the water cooling grommet effectively.
Still acting as an exhaust too.
Shots of the case itself
Close up on the window to show how bright the case light is.
So now cooling wise I've got :
Intake
two Enermax Magma 12cm fans at the front of the case
One BitFenix 12cm fans as intake on the window (may change this to exhaust).
These three fans are controlled by my Akasa Fan Control Junior.
Exhaust
Two 12cm Akasa Vipers Push/Pull Exhaust on the H70
One 14cm Akasa Viper on the top of the case
These three are controlled via PWM so they're nice an quiet 90% of the time.
The spec of the PC is:
Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3
AMD Phenom II 1090T - 3.8Ghz with Corsair H70.
12GB Corsair XMS3
EVGA GTX460
OCZ Agility 3 60GB / 500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue / 500GB Seagate Barracuda
LG something Blu-ray Drive
OCZ Z Series 850W PSU
Afew pros and cons that I've got about the case.
Pros
- First off, low price!
- Nice sturdy build quality.
- The 'SofTouch' finish is really nice, looks great too.
- Lots of cable management options.
- Good clearance behind the motherboard tray!
- Plenty of cooling options, upto 7 fans can be installed in the case.
- One nice touch with the motherboard mounts, two of them had indents on them to prevent the motherboard from sliding around as you secured it into place.
- Handy 2.5" adaptor is included which is used for my Fan Controller and also my SSD is secured onto it the other side.
Cons
- The tools free mechanism isn't rock solid, the HDDs and Blu-ray drive can be moved slightly while they are in the 'lock' position.
That's all for now!
